How do you measure a fleet’s CO₂ emissions?
A combustion vehicle’s CO₂ emissions are proportional to the fuel it burns: each liter of diesel consumed corresponds to a known amount of CO₂. The Tracky module therefore starts from the real consumption measured on each vehicle, not a manufacturer average, and applies an emission factor per liter to estimate CO₂ per trip and per vehicle. The result is tracked month by month against reduction targets, and exports for the CSR or ESG reporting your customers and contractors ask for. Because the calculation is based on consumption, every liter saved through fuel management shows up directly in the carbon footprint.
Why track emissions trip by trip?
A footprint estimated from fuel invoices arrives at the end of the year and does not say which vehicle or route weighs the most. Tracking by trip shows where to act, and lets you answer with measured figures when contractors and export customers ask their carriers for emissions data.
How can a fleet cut its emissions?
The levers are the same as for fuel management: cut unnecessary idling, remove detours, smooth out driving, service by real mileage. ADEME estimates that eco-driving alone can reduce fuel use by up to 15%. The CO₂ module measures the effect of each action and expresses it in the unit your reporting uses.
