Cold chain

HACCP, handled. Monitor temperature around the clock, trigger an alert when a threshold is crossed and keep full traceability.

  • Continuous temperature monitoring
  • Alerts when a threshold is crossed
  • Time-stamped history you can export
  • Documented HACCP compliance
Cold chain in the Tracky platform

How does temperature monitoring work on a refrigerated truck?

A temperature probe fitted in the refrigerated body measures the temperature continuously and passes it to the GPS tracker, which sends it to the Tracky platform along with the vehicle’s position. The manager follows each truck live and gets an alert as soon as a threshold is crossed, for example when the body warms above the limit set for the load. Every reading is time-stamped and stored, and the history can be exported to prove to a customer or an inspector that the cold chain held from loading to delivery. This is the continuous recording that HACCP procedures call for.

Why does the cold chain need recorded proof?

The HACCP method rests on seven principles, including monitoring critical points and keeping records. In refrigerated transport, the critical point is the temperature of the body throughout the trip. A manual reading at departure and arrival says nothing about what happened in between. On-board recording provides that proof, and the alert lets you react before the load is lost. The cold chain and HACCP guide goes through the process.

Which fleets use this module?

Carriers of fresh and frozen goods, food distributors and fresh produce exporters, who are numerous around Agadir, where trucks shuttle between packing stations and the port. For these fleets, the temperature probe often goes together with fuel management, the two things to keep under control on long runs to the north. The refrigerated transport page describes the typical setup.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Cold chain

What is the difference between a temperature logger and GPS temperature monitoring?

A standard logger is read on arrival: it tells you afterwards whether the temperature held. GPS monitoring sends the temperature live with the truck’s position and triggers an alert when a threshold is crossed, which leaves time to act during the trip.

Can the temperature history be exported?

Yes. Every reading is time-stamped, and the history can be exported to hand to a customer or show during an inspection.

Is temperature monitoring enough for HACCP compliance?

It covers monitoring and recording temperature during transport, two of the seven HACCP principles. The full process also includes hazard analysis, set limits and corrective actions, which the company still has to define.
